Solutions proposed by MAN candidate to decongest Chisinau

The municipality is responsible for infrastructure, which means roads, sidewalks, parking lots, traffic lights, dedicated lanes and public transport, said incumbent mayor Ion Ceban, who is running for a new term in office on behalf of the Party “National Alternative Movement” (MAN) which he heads, IPN reports.

“We work on absolutely all these areas and intervene according to priorities. It is very important not to experience intentional blockages or artificially created situations, like the one I reported on Friday, when traffic police officers were pretending to be managing traffic,” Ion Ceban stated in a news conference.

According to the candidate, the MAN comes up with simple, but complex solutions to this effect. For example, the urban mobility plan on which they are working reviews all the hinges related to plan, traffic, roads, alternative transport and this is done together with the European Union in the farmworker of the project “Move it like Lublin” #moveitlikelublin. The results of the project will be visible towards the end of this year and at the start of next year things will be prioritized on each component apart.

Ion Ceban noted that the streets Mesager and Albișoara should have the traffic duplication component. The managing of road traffic from the Traffic Monitoring Center that coordinates its activities with the Ministry of the Interior is another component. The dedicated lanes and parking lots also help to decongest the city.

Ion Ceban was elected mayor general of the municipality of Chisinau at the local election of 2019. He will be the 16th on the list of candidates written on the ballot at the upcoming mayoral election.
