Thirty waste collection platforms and 60 containers for collecting garbage selectively were set up in Falesti town within the European project “Crossborder improvement of solid municipal waste management in the Republic of Moldova, Romania, and Ukraine”, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué from the National Farmers Federation of Moldova “AGROinform”, the third round of Moldovan-Romanian-Ukrainian debates on solid municipal waste management in border areas was held in Falesti on March 28-29. The debates centered on the principles and methods of drafting district regulations on solid municipal waste management and sustainable development of the waste management plan for Moldova’s Falesti district and Ukraine’s Novoselitsea town of Chernautsi region.
On March 29, the Falesti District Council transmitted two garbage trucks GAZ and KAMAZ with a capacity of 8m3 and 22 m3 respectively to the Public Amenities and Dwellings Division. The mayor’s offices of Targu Frumos and Novoselitsea towns will also buy such trucks within the project.
The third round of debates involved 14 representatives of the project partners from Romania, Ukraine and Moldova, members of the Coordination Committee and experts of the project.
