A solid household waste recycling center will be put up on Uzinelor St in the capital city. The Chisinau Municipal Council approved the allocation of a 15-hectare plot of land for the future construction, IPN reports.

The Chisinau municipality assumes responsibility for constructing the transfer station with financial resources that will be attracted within EIB, EBRD, E5P financing. The Ministry of Environment will build a recycling center next to the transfer station.

The landfill for solid waste storage will be located outside the territory of Chisinau municipality. The commitment of the local public authorities of Chisinau is to develop an efficient and sustainable waste management system, which meets the rigors of the policies in the field and the expectations of the citizens, said the Chisinau City Hall.

The draft decision was unanimously approved by the councilors who attended the meeting.
