A soldier of the Special Destination Battalion was sentenced by the Military Court for robbery and desertion, Info-Prim Neo has learnt from the Press Service of the General Prosecutor’s Office (PG). According to a press release, both in the suit and in the Court sitting, it was found that, from August 28 to September 16, 2008, the soldier was on medical leave at his residence. He didn’t return from his holiday being illegally outside the military unit. On December 14, the soldier, being inebriated nearby his house in Soroca town, attacked a man, hitting him in his neck with a pen, then he threatened him with a knife, boxed him, causing him injures. The soldier took 400 lei, 150 euros and a pair of winter footwear from that man. On the basis of evidence, the Military Court found him guilty of committing the infractions of robbery and desertion and sentenced him to 4 years of jail.
