Socioeconomic platform for young people launched in Ungheni
Young people from the districts of Ungheni, Calarasi, Falesti and Causeni will be trained how to improve the socioeconomic situation and to find a decent workplace within a two-year project that was launched in Ungheni, Info-Prim Neo reports.
On the official website of the project “Decent Work for Young People”(www.muncadecenta.md), the young people will be able to register online to take part in the training seminars that will be organized within the project. They will also be able to report violations of the socioeconomic rights and to discuss the faced problems with other young people.
According to communication expert within the project Ludmila Gurau, the project suggests solutions to the multiple problems faced today by the young people in Moldova: lack of workplaces, non-recognition of the socioeconomic rights, violation of the right to work, discrimination on grounds of age, and the lack of motivation to become involved in community life.
Project manager Angela Ciocirlan, who heads the Association for Children and Youth “Faclia”, said that the young people will be informed how to prepare for an employment interview and how to correctly write a CV. “This project concerns the socioeconomic rights of the young people, including the disabled ones: the right to decent work, to salary, to form trade union organizations, to receive state benefit in case of an accident at work,” she stated.
According to official statistics, the young people represent over 40% of the unemployed persons in Moldova. Almost 75% of the young people do not know their rights or know the legislation only partially. 80% of the young people consider that the right to work is violated or respected partially. Over 60% believe that they are discriminated when they are employed.
The project has a budget of €367,000, €300,000 of which represents the contribution of the EU Delegation to Moldova. The other part of the sum is provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, the Ministry of Youth and Sport of Moldova and Dutch employees who promote international solidarity.
