Socialists to propose no-confidence motion against Gavrilița Government

The National Council of the Party of Socialists (PSRM) considers that the Republic of Moldova experiences the most serious socioeconomic crisis of the past 20 years and the party is responsible for the future of the Moldovan people. In a meeting, the Council decided that the parliamentary group of the Socialists should initiate a no-confidence motion against the Gavrilița Government, IPN reports.

“The rampant rise in the prices of all the goods and services leads to the impoverishment of the population. All the forecasts show that the prices and charges will continue to rise and winter will be very hard for our country. When there is a severe drought, our country’s agriculture is going through one of the most serious crises. Owing to the rise in fuel prices, the farmers say that in autumn bread prices will grow further,” says a press release issued by PSRM.

The Socialists firmly condemn the authorities’ actions aimed at politicizing and subduing justice. According to PSRM, no one can be above the law. The party has always pleaded for an independent justice system, a state with the rule of law, a fair investigation into high-profile cases and for holding the real thieves and corrupt persons to blame.

The National Council of PSRM demands to work out a national anti-crisis plan for solving the multiple problems of the citizens and for ensuring the country’s stable socioeconomic development. Also, the Council is for forming an alternative professional anti-crisis government.

“We call on all the citizens, the political class and civil society to combine forces so as to agree a national agenda. Together we must protect the Constitution and democracy,” said the Socialists.
