The Party of Socialists intends to dispute the contracts for the management of apartment buildings proposed by the Chisinau City Hall. The Socialists consider that these contracts hide dishonest intentions and flagrantly violate the human rights. Moreover, the Socialists will carry out broad campaigns to inform the residents of Chisinau and will urge them not to sign these contracts, IPN reports.
The City Hall proposed signing contracts allowing the housing stock managing companies to become administrators of the blocks and to levy a management tax of 1 leu a month. Socialist MP Ion Ceban said the future size of the tax imposed by the City Hall is not known as the contract does not stipulate this.
“In the future, the City Hall may decide to lease out the basements or to build attic-like apartments without asking for the permission of dwellers. The rights of the dwellers and the legislation are violated. Some already suggested imposing penalties on the dwellers who do not want to sign these contracts. Announcements about the penalties appear on doors,” said the MP.
Vasile Bolea, jurist of the Party of Socialists, said forcing the dwellers to sign the contracts is already a violation. These contracts should be formulated and adopted by the Government and proposed for public debates.
The Socialists will ask the prosecutors to establish who places the announcement and the Chisinau Municipal Council to investigate the situation created around these contracts. The Soloists’ young wing “Youth Guard” provides information to people at tents put up in Chisinau. They said there are thousands of applications from Chisinau inhabitants, who ask not introducing such contracts.
