The Party of Socialists put forward an initiative to reduce the taxes and excise duties on gasoline and diesel fuel two times so as offer support to the population and national producers in this difficult period, IPN reports.
“The National Agency for Energy Regulation adopted another anti-social decision, increasing thus the prices of gasoline and diesel fuel. This will lead to rises in the prices of basic necessities, of food products and will have an unfavorable impact on the transport sector and agriculture in our country,” the party said in a press release.
According to the Socialists, the initiative is designed to stimulate the recovery of the national economy – from the transport system (passengers and freight) to agriculture and industry, production of competitive goods in Moldova.
The National Agency for Energy Regulation on June 12 announced the fuel price ceilings for June 13-26. During the next two weeks, the price ceiling for gasoline will be 19.49 lei/liter, up 0,34 lei, while for diesel fuel – 17.41 lei/liter, up 0.32 lei.
