The Socialists will insist on the urgent signing next week of a political agreement between the PSRM and ACUM Bloc, "where the objectives of the country's internal and foreign policy will be clearly defined, in order to exclude situations that pose major risks to the entire governance process". A message in this regard was posted by the leader of the PSRM parliamentary group Vlad Batrîncea on Facebook, IPN reports.
According to the lawmaker, despite the agreements agreed between the PSRM and the ACUM bloc, a series of messages of geopolitical character have started to appear recently. “We express our perplexity and regret that some MPs and exponents of the ACUM bloc make statements and messages with geopolitical and ideological insinuations that risk greatly to affect our efforts to consolidate the society and to balance the foreign policy promoted by our state,” Vlad Batrîncea says.
The Socialist states the verbal attacks against strategic partners of the Republic of Moldova “do nothing but compromise the efforts to remove the country from the oligarchy’s clutches”, also affecting the support that the current government enjoys from its Western and Eastern external partners. At the same time, he regrets the “sensless messages with geopolitical hint” addressed to the PSRM and the presidential institution.
According to Vlad Batrîncea, in spite of some internal discrepancies on several topics proposed by the Government and the partners from the ACUM bloc, the PSRM faction remains consolidated and supports the parliamentary majority with 35 deputies. "It would be better for the ACUM bloc to come up with a consolidated position, or we have often witnessed the sabotage of important decisions accepted by consensus by the leadership of the parties that have assumed the act of government," he says.
President Igor Dodon wrote on his Facebook page that in order to change things for the better, all state entities must show political wisdom and maturity. The parliamentary majority and the government are facing challenges related to the economic-budgetary risks, first of all in the energy sector, and the need to promote real social and economic reforms. Also, reforms in the judiciary, prosecutor's office and investigative bodies are needed. The local elections of October 20, the captivity of state institutions, as well as the promotion of a balanced foreign policy, remain among the main challenges.
The PSRM and ACUM Bloc deputies have signed on June 8 this year a temporary political agreement "for the purpose of desoligarchization and returning the state of the Republic of Moldova to constitutional normality”.
