Socialist MPs Igor Dodon and Zinaida Greceanyi consider that the draft budget for next year contains populist promises and promises that practically cannot be achieved without assistance from abroad. According to the lawmakers, the country’s administration included about 2 billion lei foreign grants in the budget revenues for next year without being sure that this money will be obtained, IPN reports.
Igor Dodon told a news conference that over the last four years the government has begged and waited for foreign grants and loans without realizing that the only possibility of developing the country is to create stimulatory conditions for economic entities. “The fiscal policy for 2013 already led to the closure of hundreds of businesses and the going of economic entities abroad. We have tens of thousands of liquidated workplaces. The taxes and excises were increased this year. The number of inspections and imposed fines rose. The road taxes were doubled. The exemptions from paying VAT were excluded,” said the politician.
Zinaida Greceanyi said the Government approved the budgetary-fiscal policy in a hurry. “It is regrettable. The administration makes big promises, but the policies are not stimulatory for the taxpayers,” she stated.
The Socialists said that the 2014 budget is based on the rise in tax burden. They put forward 30 proposals for improving the situation. They suggest keeping the VAT rate of 20% in agriculture, but refunding the money in the form of subsidies within five days, issuing entrepreneurship licenses free of charge, reducing the road taxes and increasing the pension by 20% in two stages. The Socialists are categorically against the rise in the mandatory health insurance contribution. They consider that the 44 million lei earmarked for raising the pays of judges should be used to implement youth policies and to solve the dwelling-related problems of the young.
