MP Lidia Lupu filed an application, asking to be excluded from the parliamentary group of the Party of Socialists (PSRM). The information was confirmed to IPN by the Parliament’s press service. “I ask you to make my request public in the next sitting of the legislative body,” Lidia Lupu writes in her application.
Recently, Lidia Lupu, as a local councilor, voted Ghenadie Buzu, who represents the Democratic Party, head of Hancesti district, even if the leader of the PSRM Igor Dodon stated publicly that the party’s representatives will not form alliances with the parties of the ‘oligarchs and euro-Unionists’.
On a social networking site, Igor Dodon wrote that the Socialists from all the districts are subject to pressure, are blackmailed and bribed. “Some of the persons yielded to the pressure exerted by the oligarchs. But most of them remain firm. Those who yielded will be excluded from the party. Next week, we will have the meeting of the collective bodies, where we will take a decision about those who went against our political principles, no matter what post they hold – of councilor, mayor or MP. Better with one or two members fewer, but correct and with character. I personally and most of the members of my team remain faithful to the commitments we made to the hundreds of thousands of people who voted for us. The oligarchs can hit us, but will not defeat us. The fight goes on…” wrote Dodon.
In the November 28, 2014 parliamentary elections, the PSRM won 25 seats of MP. Now that Lidia Lupu leaves, the parliamentary group will consist of 24 members.
