The MPs of the Party of Socialists registered a draft decision concerning the holding of the presidential elections on November 1. The document was published by Socialist MP Vasile Bolea, who heads the Parliament’s commission for appointments and immunities, IPN reports.
“We registered a draft decision regarding the setting of the date of the election of the President of the Republic of Moldova. According to article 109, par.3) of the Election Code, Parliament sets the date of the presidential elections at least 60 days before the election day. We proposed that the elections should be set for November 1, 2020,” stated Vasile Bolea.
In a news conference earlier today, President Igor Dodon suggests that this year’s presidential elections should be held on November 1, noting he will submit such a proposal to the legislative body.
