Socialist MP Mihail Paciu told a news conference that the producers are expected to file applications for developing the export of fruit to the Russian Federation. According to the MP, of the over 300 Moldovan exporting companies, 250 export fruit to Russia.
“In 2014-2015, there were 129 Moldovan companies that were banned access to the Russian market. Owing to the efforts made by the President of the Republic of Moldova Igor Dodon, these companies can export goods to Russia again. Moreover, the number of exporting companies during the last four-five years rose from 129 to 258,” stated the MP, being quoted by IPN.
The MP said on January 1 this year, the Russian Federation annulled the customs duties on vegetables, fruit, cans, grapes and wine products from Moldova and this contributed essentially to larger exports.
Socialist MP Radu Mudreac, who heads the Parliament’s commission on agriculture and food industry, said the local producers need state support to develop and to create new jobs. He reminded of a number of legislative proposals formulated by the Socialists, such as the bill to amend the law on government procurement and institute a quota of 10% for national producers, which was given a first reading.
The bill provides that when assessing the bids for goods and work contracts to the value of up to 2 million lei, the contracting authority will apply a preferential margin in favor of national goods and services whose price will not exceed 15% of the price of the best bid.
For the goods bids submitted by the Society of the Blind, the Society of the Deaf, the Society of Invalids, the production workshop of the Clinical Psychiatry Hospital and jails and for the bids of ecological agrifoods, the preferential margin will not exceed 20% of the price of the best bid.
Radu Mudreac also presented other bills, like the one that provides that the national products should occupy at least 50% of the linear length of shelves in shops. He noted that when this bill is adopted, the Government will approve the list of goods that will be regulated by this law.
