The chairman of the Party of Socialists Igor Dodon said the Communist faction on the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) has the right to name one or even two deputy mayors and his group is ready to vote them in, Info-Prim Neo reports. “On the one hand, three is the Communist faction on the CMC that is the largest, while on the other hand there is the Liberal faction together with the factions that form the AEI. I don’t understand why the Communists do not have the right to one or even two posts of deputy mayor. If they put their candidates forward, we will examine them and vote for them,” Igor Dodon said in the program “In Profunzime” on Pro TV Chisinau. According to Dodon, the group of Socialists on the CMC is ready to vote for all the initiatives they will consider beneficial, no matter who suggested them – the AEI or the Communists. The Socialists’ leader also said that he wants to organize a referendum to give a vote of no confidence to the Mayor General of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca. “The legislation allows me to suggest holding a referendum. I promised the voters last July that I will put forward such an initiative and I’m bilged to do it,” said Igor Dodon. The group of Socialists on the CMC was constituted at the end of January. It consists of two municipal councilors who left the Communist faction.
