Socialists’ motion against transport minister rejected

Minister of Transport and Road Infrastructure Iurie Chirinciuc will keep his post. The simple motion submitted by the Socialist MPs against the minister hasn’t been supported by the majority of MPs attending the July 1 sitting, IPN reports.

According to the authors of the motion, the minister must be dismissed because the transport and road infrastructure sector and the railway sector have been in a deplorable state since his appointment. The Socialists insist that the minister pursues vicious policies.

Iurie Chirinciuc denied Socialists’ accusations, saying road rehabilitation projects are implemented actively, while Moldova’s Railways needs to be reorganized for optimizing costs and solving the problems faced by the company.

This is the fourth simple motion proposed by the Socialists MPs that is rejected. The first three motions were against ministers Corina Fusu, Anatol Salaru and Octavian Armasu. A week ago the Socialists made a motion against Minister of Labor Stela Grigoras, while on July 1 they submitted one more motion against Minister of Justice Vladimir Cebotari.
