Socialists march in Orhei to mark May 1

The Party of Socialists organized a March of Social Solidarity in Orhei. PSRM members and supporters gathered before the town church and marched on Vasile Lupu Street towards the central square. According to a press release of the party, 2000 people participated in the event, Info-Prim Neo reports. PSRM leader Igor Dodon held a speech about May 1, which became a holiday thanks to the socialists’ manifestations 100 years ago, first in America, then in Europe. “This is a holiday that represents us, the Socialists. Labor, solidarity, peace, decent living, and social protection, these are the values celebrated by the May 1 holiday. These values mean progress for our country”, said Igor Dodon. The MP regrets that for Moldova progress is only “an illusion and a fiction” and that the days when Moldova was called a “flourishing orchard” are gone. However, Igor Dodon is confident that the Party of Socialists is the force to make the most of the country’s potential and lead it to progress. The event culminated with a concert featuring the bands Millenium and Lume.
