Socialists demand to convoke Chisinau Council

The councilors of the Party of Socialists submitted an application signed by 17 councilors to deputy mayor of Chisinau Nistor Grozavu whereby they request to call a meeting of the Municipal Council. According to the Socialists, solutions to the waste problem should be identified as the waste in the capital city hasn’t been collected for several days, IPN reports.

The head of the Socialist group Ion Ceban told a news conference that last week he warned about possible disruptions to the work of municipal subdivisions and these occurred because the leader of the Liberal Party Mihai Ghimpu summoned representatives of the subdivisions and asked this from them.

The councilor noted he was in Bubuieci and ascertained that there are persons who oppose the storing of waste there, but there are also supporters of the Liberals who do not want to have a dialogue with anyone and block the transportation of waste.

The Socialists demand to convoke the Chisinau Council at 10am on June 6 so as to identify solutions to the waste collection problem in the short and long terms. Ion Ceban called on his colleagues from other groups to take part in the meeting. According to him, representatives of the local authorities of Bubuieci were also invited to the meeting.
