The Socialist group on the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) demands that electronic voting should be instituted in the Council. According to its representatives, each councilor must bear responsibility for the taken decisions, IPN reports.
The group’s leader Ion Ceban held a press briefing before the November 19 meeting of the CMC, where he underlined the importance of electronic voting. “We must return to the electronic code. Each councilor should assume a part of the responsibility for any decision taken by the Chisinau Municipal Council,” he stated.
According to the councilor, new regulations that will govern the Council’s activity should be approved after discussing them with all the groups on the CMC and with civil society.
As to the November 19 meeting, Ion Ceban said the items included in the agenda have nothing to do with the key problems faced by the citizens. “These problems include the tariffs, preparations for the cold season and road infrastructure. The construction works on the territory of nursery schools and parks go on. A moratorium on constructions is crucial. We must also discuss the budget for the next year, which is not yet ready,” stated the councilor.
