Socialists create five initiative groups for organizing plebiscites

The Socialists set up initiative groups for organizing referendums in five districts, in addition to the six groups created last week. The announcement was made by the party’s leader Igor Dodon in a news conference on February 10, IPN reports.

The lawmaker said the Socialists will continue, without the Communist Party, the campaign for initiating referendums on joining the Eurasian Customs Union. He leveled criticism at Communist councilors from districts, saying they subscribed to the pro-European call of the government.

In the same news conference, Igor Dodon proposed the leaders of the government coalition to support a bill that bans activities by parties and organizations that can undermine the sovereignty and statehood of Moldova.
