Socialist MP Grigore Novac presents new video with missing MP Ștefan Gațcan

The fact that MP Ștefan Gațcan’s car was left in the Parliament’s parking lot is not something unordinary, said Socialist MP Grigore Novac. Moreover, he stated the MPs often leave their cars there. Asked why Ștefan Gațcan left Parliament, the Socialist MP could not answer, IPN reports.

In the talk show “Black Box” on TV8 channel, Grigore Novac presented footage with MP Ștefan Gațcan, where this says that he is ok and calls on society to remain calm.

“Dear MPs, friends, relatives, I want to note that I’m fine and I voluntarily vacated the seat of MP. I haven’t been abducted. I’m at a psycho-emotional rehabilitation stage. I beg you not to generate tensions. I sincerely wish you health, success and discernment in everything you do,” Ștefan Gațcan stated in a video that was presented by Grigore Novac on his smartphone.

Democratic MP Nicolae Ciubuc said there have been many reports that MP Ștefan Gațcan had been kidnapped.

“I think that until the opposite is proven, we can presume that the person withdrew. We will yet see when he returns to the country, what arguments he provides and if he wants to discuss with the press. Those who insist on this idea can go to the responsible institutions such as the Prosecutor’s Office, the police, but we will now believe what we see,” stated Nicolae Ciubuc.

Ștefan Gațcan was elected MP in constituency No. 38 Hâncești, where he ran on behalf of the PSRM, on March 15 this year. On June 30, Ștefan Gațcan announced his decision to defect from the Socialist parliamentary group to the Pro Moldova group. In a press briefing, he said his decision was a personal one and wasn’t influenced by anyone. He urged his former colleagues not to launch attacks on him, his relatives and friends in order to make him change his mind. On his Facebook page, he wrote that the interminable political struggles, serious management mistakes, unprofessional decisions, lack of courage and even acceptance of fakes in the management of the COVID-19 crisis made him distance himself from those actions. On July 1, Ștefan Gațcan handed over his resignation from the post of MP. The Party of Socialists issued a press release, saying Ștefan Gațcan remains part of the PSRM’s team and will be actively engaged in the work of the party’s social group so that he uses his professional experience in drafting bills related to the health policies. Pro Moldova said the MP was abducted.
