Socialist group shall not boycott president's election, Igor Dodon
The group of Socialists will participate in the election of the head of the state, but will vote against the AIE candidate. “We shall not boycott president's election, we will participate. If anyone from PCRM wants to vote for the AIE candidate, let him do it”, declared Igor Dodon at a press conference on Tuesday.
The parliamentarian presented the Socialists' faction proposals to amend the Law about the Government. “The Socialists propose to amend the Law about the Government so that the members of the Government are forbidden to do party work during their mandates. The law must oblige them to suspend their party membership during their mandates”, said Igor Dodon.
According to Dodon, the proposal is meant to minimize the political factor in governance in favor of the professional one. “We have the experience of working in the Government as professionals, as technocrats, without being party members. We think this is the best model for Moldova, because the focus is on the professional qualities of future ministers and not on their party affiliation”, emphasized Igor Dodon.
The lawmaker added that a Government made up by politicians is involved in political intrigues and is less efficient administratively. Meanwhile, a technocrat Government is free of political games and focused on efficiency, strategies and concrete results.
