Socialist councilor Gaik Vartanean requested the Chisinau City Hall to provide explanations to the personnel of the municipal administration and of education institutions about the delay in the payment of salaries to particular categories of employees, IPN reports.

In a meeting of the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) convened by the Socialists on June 7, which involved only the Socialist group, Gaik Vartanean accused particularly the Liberal councilors of not being interested in the faith of hundreds of employees who remained without salaries.

“The inhabitants of the capital city didn’t choose such a Municipal Council. They want a Council that will first of all work in their interests. Possibly some of the colleagues from the CMC hold talks over posts of deputy mayor, councilor, etc.  But the unblocking of the activity of the Municipal Council should be discussed within the Council,” said Gaik Vartanean, noting time has come for the Council to also be reelected.
