Social Theater Festival designates winners

Young people from different settlements of Moldova were awarded during the Social Theater Festival that was held in Moldova on November 6 for the first time. The young people presented sketches about migration. human trafficking and domestic violence, HIV/AIDS prevention, teenage security, the right to a clean environment and other social issues, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communique from the organizers of the Festival. The contest brought together 12 teams consisting of persons aged between 14 and 25 from Chisinau, Falesti, Cahul, Drochia, Calarasi, Glodeni, Balti, and Bender. The Top Prize was given to the Chisinau-based Human Rights Information and Documentation Center that put on a sketch about migration and the prevention of trafficking in human beings and aimed to sensitize the parents to the danger of leaving the children unsupervised. The second and third prizes were offered to the teams from Bender and Glodeni, which addressed the problem of HIV/AIDS and the lack of correct infraction about this diseases and the risks to reproductive health. “We hope that the festival will continue and will bring together teams from all the districts. It is a successful example of mobilization that shows the young people not only witness the events, but also take an active part in them and bring about changes,” said the representative of the Ministry of Education Eugenia Parlicov. All the participating teams received diplomas and presents. The event aimed to ensure experience exchange, socialize the young people and establish partnerships. The Social Theater Festival was organized by the Y-Peer Education Network, the United Nations Population Fund, the Ministry of Youth and Sport and the Ministry of Education of Moldova.
