The International Conference on “Social Role of Democracy in the Europe of tomorrow” will be held on November 18-19, in Chisinau. Leader of the Democratic Party (DP) of Moldova Dumitru Diacov told a pres conference held on November 16 that the conference’s topic will focus on the analysis of social, economic and employment policies, policies on gender equality in Europe and East Europe, especially aiming at the Policy in an Enlarged Europe. According to the cited source, through the agency of the international Conference, DP wants to open the dialogue regarding Moldova’s political context, condition of center-left-wing parties and necessity to consolidate the social-democratic segment. The conference aims at stimulating dialogue between political authorities of similar orientation for promoting a joint social-democratic policy, as well as at familiarizing the society with the ideas and social experience of democracy in the developed countries and Moldova. Dumitru Diacov said that the experience of the social democratic parties in Europe is very important to Moldova, that’s why the conference is a premise for merging all the social democratic parties into a single strong party. The International Conference on “Social Role of Democracy in the Europe of tomorrow” is organized by the Democratic Party of Moldova in concert with “Friedrich Ebert” (Germany), “Alfred Mozer” (the Netherlands), “Jean Jaures” (France) and “The Olof Palme International Center” (Sweden) foundations. Representatives of left-wing parties from Germany, France, Sweden, Bulgaria, Romania, the Netherlands, Ukraine, Russia, the UK and Austria will participate in the event. The parties from Moldova that were invited to this event are Social Democratic Party, Communist Party and Social Democracy Party.
