Social Reintegration Centre to open in Edinet
A new social reintegration centre for graduates of boarding schools and youngsters from underprivileged families will be inaugurated on November 14, in Edinet. It will be opened within the frameworks of the “Better opportunities for young and women” program, implemented by UNDP in Moldova, with the financial support of the US Government.
The Centre will prepare graduates of boarding schools for an independent life. These youngsters will benefit from a wide range of assistance: psychological and social counseling, life habits’ development, professional orientation and support in the process of employment.
Edinet Social reintegration centre is the fifth of those 10 centers of this type to be launched as part of the “Better opportunities for young and women” project.
The first Social integration centre for young was opened in Ungheni, on December 12 2005. Later, similar centers were opened in Carpineni, Soroca, Drochia si Cahul.
In total, within the frameworks of the program, about 10 social reintegration centers will be created. These centers will be administrated by local NGOs which would contribute to the sustainability of the project, through earnings producing activities, collaboration with local public administration and other social actors.
