The most important problems in the sphere of human rights and environment will be discussed during the second local session of the European Youth Parliament in Moldova. The session will start on June 22 and will last 3 days, Info-Prim Neo reports. The session, organized with the support of the Slovakian government, will gather 50 young people from the right bank of the Nistru and 50 from the other bank. The selected youth will be aged between 16 and 22 years. They will be divided into 10 committees specialized in the social inclusion of disabled youth, the issues of pollution, drugs, alcohol and smoking. There will also be committees specialized in the development of small business, in defending women and children’s rights, in developing touristic potential and in tackling the Transnistrian conflict. The reform of the education system and the methods of informing youth about European projects will also be included on the agenda. On the first day, participants will get the chance to know the team and the work methods. The second day, they will move on to debates after which, on the third day, every committee will draft a resolution on the discussed problems. The resolution will be submitted to the Moldovan Ministry of Education. The meetings will be attended by representatives of the European Youth Parliament and a member of the European Parliament as an observer. The selected applicants will be notified by email. The Moldovan Youth Parliament has recently become a full rights member of the European Youth Parliament. Now, the juniors’ legislative will be able to organize international conferences in the Moldova. The first meeting of the European Youth Parliament took place in February, 2012, and gathered 75 participants. The next session is scheduled for August.
