Social integration services for about 200 vulnerable young persons in Telenesti
The boarding school graduates from Telenesti who are orphans or deprived of family care will benefit from the services of a social integration center. They will be offered psychosocial assistance and will be able to develop independent life habits. They will also benefit from mediation activities and facilitated access to the labor market, Info-Prim Neo reports.
In a communiqué, the United Nations Development Program says the social reintegration center is opened as part of the Better Opportunities for Women and Youth Project implemented by UNDP in Moldova with financial support from the Government of Romania and the U.S. Government through USAID.
The center will accommodate eight persons, but other young persons from the region who do not face accommodation problems but are in a difficult social situation can also benefit from the center’s services. The center will provide assistance for about 200 vulnerable young persons a year.
The social reintegration center for youth in Telenesti is the tenth center opened as part of the abovementioned project in Moldova.
The project aims to reduce the number of vulnerable people exposed to marginalization, violence, abuse and exploitation.
The project launched maternity centers in Causeni, Drochia and Cahul and social reintegration centers in Ungheni, Soroca, Carpineni (Hancesti), Edinet, Calarasi and Telenesti.
