Snap parliamentary elections in four constituencies will cost about 12 million lei

The Central Electoral Commission approved the expense estimate for organizing and conducting new parliamentary elections in four constituencies, on October 20. The elections will cost 11.9 million lei, IPN reports.

According to the Central Electoral Commission Secretary Maxim Lebedinschi, the number of polling stations opened in these four constituencies during the February parliamentary elections was taken into account in determining the budget. If the  local authorities decide there is a need for more polling stations, expenditure will be adjusted accordingly.

No additional money from the budget will be allocated for the snap elections, as the costs will be covered by what was left over from the February general elections.

Snap elections to elect MPs will take place in single-member constituencies 17, 33, 48 and 50.
