The Central Electoral Commission has decided to organize snap elections in one more constituency in response to Vlad Plahotniuc announcement that he was giving up the MP seat which he won in Constituency no.17/Nisporeni.
Like in three other single-member constituencies, the snap election in Nisporeni will take place on October 20, concomitantly with the nationwide local elections.
Previously, CEC decided to organize snap parliamentary elections in constituencies 33 (Chisinau suburbs), 50 (Western Europe), and 48 (South Transnistria), after ACUM’s Andrei Năstase and Maia Sandu preferred Cabinet portfolios over MP seats, and the non-inscript Viorel Melnic simply quit.
