Two men lost their lives on Sunday in fires caused by cigarettes. According to the Exceptional Situations Department (ESD), one of the tragedies happened in the middle of the night, 1.00, in Olanesti village, Stefan Voda raion. A man aged 40 died in his house because of the fire generated by a cigarette. In the same day, a similar accident occurred in Glodeni town at 20.30. Because of the intoxication with smoke a man aged 67 lost his life. Another 3 persons, including a teenager aged 16 have been intoxicated with natural gas in this weekend as a result of a gas leakage occurred because of the illegal connection to natural gas supply. The accident happened in Durlesti town, municipality of Chisinau at midnight. The victims were hospitalised at “Sfanta Treime” hospital. According to ESD, 22 fires were registered in the country this weekend, of which six in Chisinau.
