Over the past 24, four men died of asphyxia in house fires caused by careless smoking. A carelessly discarded cigarette butt caused a fire in a house in Cahul town, killing the 50-year-old owner and another man, whose identity is still unknown. Because of a defective heating stove, a fire broke out in the house of a resident of Branzenii-Noi village, Telenesti district. The arrived firefighting squad found the body of the owner’s friend, aged 45. On Friday morning, at around 6:30, a house fire occurred in Balti municipality, which claimed the life of the 56-year-old owner. The cause was, again, careless smoking indoors. 115 fires were recorded this month, with a death toll of 15.
