The prices of permissive documents for road transport operators will decrease. For example, the price of an annual multilateral CEMT (European Conference of Ministers of Transport) road haulage permit will decline from €580 to €40. The short-term permits will cost €20, down from €50, while the standard price of an international freight transport permit will be €5. This is stipulated in a bill that was examined by the Parliament’s commission on economy, budget and finance, IPN reports.

The bill allows for the elimination of the obligation to pay customs duty on semi-trailer trucks younger than seven. This way, more advantageous conditions will be created for the road transport operators to gradually replace the owned vehicles.

It is also suggested extending the period of exploitation for motor vehicles intended for transporting at least ten persons, including the driver, to ten years. The given amendment will allow renewing the pool of vehicles used on regular routes.

According to the Government, which designed the bill, the given changes will enable to reduce the administrative burden and will increase the competitiveness of road transport operators, especially at regional level.

The bill to amend the Road Fund Law and the Law on the regulation of entrepreneurial activity by permits will be put to the vote in the plenary sitting of the legislative body.
