Slovakia has offered 6 scholarships for young people from Moldova. Five are for undergraduate studies and one is for a doctor's degree. The scholarship winners attended an event organized by the Slovakian Embassy on Thursday, August 20, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration in Chisinau, IPN reports.
Ambassador Robert Kirnag said this was the second year his country offered scholarships for Moldovans. In their first year, the recipients will learn the Slovak language, then will go through 4 year undergraduate programs. The doctoral program lasts only 3 years. The scholarship fields are: general medicine, dentistry, management of the environment, water management and international relations.
Minister of Education Corina Fusu thinks these scholarships will allow young Moldovans to discover Europe and bring it home, an opportunity for growth on a personal level and for the country as well.
Anatol Vangheli, secretary general of the Foreign Ministry, highlighted this as a new stage of professional education for students in a EU country. “We are glad that Moldovan youth have many opportunities to study abroad. We hope that after you complete your studies you'll become notorious in your field and you won't forget to return home, to Moldova”, said Vangheli.
Last year, the Slovakian government also offered 6 scholarships for young Moldovans.
