They travel in winter conditions in Chisinau and the specialized services work to overcome the problematic situations that appeared, IPN reports. The sloping streets Ganea, Timiș, Poștei, Vadul lui Vodă, Paris, Podul Înalt, Căușeni and the bystreet Uzinelor are closed when it snows, the Chisinau City Hall has said.

The local public authorities call on the citizens to use public transport instead of personal cars and not to park by the roadside and on sidewalks if they cannot do without their own vehicles so as to avoid congestion and to enable snowplows to intervene swiftly. The companies and building managers are urged to clean snow from their precincts.

In the morning of January 10, 307 trolleybuses and  91 buses went out on routes. The road maintenance company “Exdrupo” started the snow removal works at about 4am. The main streets and the arteries used by public transport and the access ways to suburban localities are cleaned the first. From 8am, the company has used 28 utility vehicles during the day. A number of 60 vehicles will work at night.

The Public Amenities Division of Chisinau since 8am has engaged 35 utility vehicles with broom and blade and 350 workers in cleaning the access ways to residential quarters and public transport stations.
