“Slavic culture feels free in contemporary Moldova” – President

President of Moldova Vladimir Voronin says that “Slavic culture feels free in contemporary Moldova”. Voronin stated at the inauguration festivity of the Days of Slavic writing language and culture that “Russians, Ukrainians, Bulgarians, Belorussians who live in the country know that this is a territory of cultural and linguistic freedom, protected by one of the most tolerant peoples in Europe – the Moldovan people”. According to the head of state “a unique Roman-Slavic tradition originated from the organic link between the Slavic and Moldovan cultures”. The third day of the Days of Slavic writing language and culture is dedicated to the Ukrainian culture in particular. According to the chairman of the Charity Fund of professional painters and handicraftsmen “Renaissance”, Evgheni Oseredciuc, the surprise of the day will be the exhibition of the young painter Anastasia Sidorenco. The exhibition will take place at the Lyceum “Mihail Kotiubinski”. According to Oseredciuc, another event will take place at “Saint Vladimir” Church, where a church music concert of the Ukrainian composers will take place, and the library “Lesea Ukrainka” will host a recital of Ukrainian poetry. On Thursday morning, a mass was held at “St. George” Church in memory of the founders of the Cyrillic alphabet, Saints Cyril and Methodius.
