The bomb squad of the National Army in September identified and neutralized 65 explosives in the districts of Stefan-Voda, Causeni, Ungheni, and Soroca, IPN reports.
According to a press release of the Ministry of Defense, Lieutenant - Colonel Sergey Chilivnic, senior specialist of the National Army’s Bomb Service, said that six anti-personnel mines were found by a local during farming works in his garden in Zaim village of Causeni district. The German mines dated from World War II.
The same month, a 122 mm shell and a 45 mm grenade launcher were discovered in the sand quarry of Delacau village of Anenii Noi district.
So far this year, the military bomb squad demined almost 400 munitions on Moldova’s territory.
