Six residents of Causeni district got jail terms for illegally keeping a young woman in an apartment of one of these and for gang-raping her during two days there in February 2012, IPN reports.

According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the victim aged 25 tried for several times to escape, but was every time caught and raped. She managed to run away in two days, when the individuals left the apartment. The girl sustained injuries and underwent two surgeries.

Recently, the culprits aged between 27 and 33 were sentenced to 8 to 13 years in jail. The sentence is not yet definitive.
