Six years and eight months in jail for three months of slavery in Turkey
A 24-year-old woman from Soroca town has been sentenced to 6 years and 8 months in jail for trafficking in human beings, the Chisinau Appellate Court has decided.
A press release of the General Prosecutor's Office, quoted by Info-Prim Neo, reads that the woman trafficked a girl to Turkey in November 2007. She bought air tickets for her and a dwelling, jointly with a Turkish citizen. Then they took the victim's documents. For three months the girl was impelled to provide paid sexual services for a pretended debt of $1,000. In the long run, the girl managed to escape, helped by a customer.
The condemned woman was taken into the police's custody in the court room.
