The Ministry of Finance will allocate 1.4 million lei for compensating six rehabilitated victims of political repression who had their property confiscated or nationalized. The compensations were set based on decisions taken by special commissions of the districts of Cahul, Criuleni, Ocnița, Strășeni and Cantemir and the municipality of Chisinau, IPN reports.

The recipients turned 75 so that the money will be provided to them as a lump sum, as the legislation stipulates.

A total of 22.5 million lei was earmarked in the 2018 state budget for paying compensations to victims of political repression.
