Six police officers were injured in the altercations with protesters in front of the Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO) on September 6, IPN reports, quoting the General Police Inspectorate.

According to the Inspectorate, a number of criminal cases will be started and, if the blame of the eight arrested suspects is proven, they will be fined 10,000 to 20,000 lei, sentenced to 180 to 240 hours of community service or to up to three years in jail.

On September 6, a number of people who took part in the march mounted by the political organization of Grigore Petrenco became involved in clashes with the police. When they reached the PGO, the protesters started to provoke the policemen and to push them. Eight protesters, one of whom a minor, were arrested.
