Six injured in two-car crash
Six persons were injured in a serious two-car accident on Socoleni Street in Chisinau yesterday afternoon.
Road Safety Inspector Ion Roscovanu of the Chisinau Traffic Police has told Info-Prim Neo that a Volkswagen Golf, driven by a 30-year-old man, collided violently with a Nissan Sunny car, operated by a 23-year-old man. As a result, both drivers ended up with brain concussions, a passenger in the first car suffered diverse injuries, while three occupants of the second car sustained head traumas.
Another accident occurred on Dimo Street, involving a Toyota Camry, driven by a man aged 48, and a Lada car, driven by an 83-year-old. Both drivers were admitted to the Emergency Hospital with head traumas.
A drunken 20-year-old male driver of a Daewoo car lost control of the vehicle and ran into a lamppost on Milescu Spataru Street. The driver suffered brain concussion, while a 22-year-old occupant, also under the influence of alcohol, suffered thoracic contusion.
Over the past day and night, there were registered 4 accidents involving 10 injured persons and 23 minor accidents in which no one was hurt. Traffic officers fined 25 motorists for drink driving.
