The internal developments in Moldova and the main measures taken and results achieved in the process of implementing the reforms stipulated in the roadmap were discussed by Prime Minister Pavel Filip with high-ranking European officials within his visit to Brussels, where the second meeting of the Moldova – EU Association Council was held on March 14, IPN reports.
According to the Government’s press service, Pavel Filip had a meeting with the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini, who is also the Vice President of the European Commission. The officials discussed the internal developments in Moldova and the measures taken to do the reforms undertaken by the roadmap, especially the main results achieved in implementing the European agenda.
The Premier appreciated the provided support and the EU’s readiness to have a dialogue and spoke about the top priorities of the Government of Moldova.
Federica Mogherini noted that the EU will continue to support Moldova on the path of reforms.
Pavel Filip also met with Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn. The two discussed the implementation of the roadmap concerning the key reforms agenda and the progress made in implementing the Association Agreement.
The European Commissioner said the EU will offer assistance to Moldova in the reformation process, welcoming the publication of the roadmap and the involvement of civil society in the process of doing reforms.
The Prime Minister presented the progress report on the implementation of the Association Agenda, confirming Moldova’s priorities in the dialogue with the EU. He informed Johanes Hahn about the actions taken by the Government to reestablish the cooperation relations with the international financial institutions, in particular the International Monetary Fund.
