The Chisinau City Hall is examining the case of two orphan sisters. The girls sought helped from the local authorities, asking that they are not evicted from the room where they live. In the September 5 meeting of City Hall officials, Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca assured them they will not be forced out, Info-Prim Neo reports. Sisters Adriana and Aurica aged 18 and 10 related that their mother died last November and they remained to live in her room situated in a dorm in Buiucani district. But several months ago, a 27-year-old man claimed the room on the basis of a living permit. He recently sent a letter to the girls, informing them that they must leave the apartment within ten days. The eldest sister said she was even threatened by the young man. The mayor said he cannot understand how such cases can happen. “This is how the legislation works. I cannot see how the Public Amenities Division prepared the necessary documents if the given girls can now be forced out,” he stated. According to Dorin Chirtoaca, the permit was issued by the head of the Public Amenities Division Petru Gontea this March. But Gontea did not attend the meeting and could not be asked to provide explanations, while his deputy Simion Roman said he knew nothing about this case. The mayor said the girls must remain in that room, while the leaving permit must be annulled. He requested the Buiucani district head’s office to monitor the case and not to allow that the girls are evicted.
