The levee on the Ghidighici lake does not meet the minimum security requirements, the mechanism for regulating the level of water functions partially and the discharge can result in a spontaneous leak and a large-scale flood that will partially affect the municipality of Chisinau. Such a warning was issued by the Security and Intelligence Service (SIS), IPN reports.

In a communique, it is said that the SIS sent a letter to the head of state and the acting prime minister by which it informs that the Ghidighici lake is in a deplorable state and poses a pronounced threat to the ecological system.

In this connection, the SIS asked that immediate measures should be taken to remove the deficiencies identified at this strategic facility.
