The Security and Intelligence Service (SIS) describes the statements made by colonel in reserve Alexei Serebreanschi as personal frustration and attempt to make a victim of himself following the termination of his employment relations with the institution, IPN reports.
“It should be noted that Mister Serebreanschi is accused of such offenses as dereliction of duty when he headed a subunit of the Service. His public appearances are aimed at denigrating the Service following the stepping up of the internal efforts to ensure a high level of professional integrity, of the actions aimed against grand corruption and are an attempt to artificially class the trial involving Mister Serebreanschi as “political case” ,” said the SIS.
The institution noted it will not allow to be attracted into disputes and media games aimed at influencing the trial and will continue acting in strict compliance with the law.
Alexei Serebreanschi, SIS colonel in reserve and former chief of external espionage, accused the managers of the Security and Intelligence Service, of incompetence, saying that by the actions taken during the last few years, they display clear signs of commission of very serious offenses. In a news conference, he said there are suspicions of abuse of power and misconduct in office and also of intentional disclosure of classifieds information and covering of crimes. These illegalities can have disastrous consequences for the state and its security.
