SIS division head suspended from post and banned from leaving country
The head of the Operative Technical Division of the Security and Information Service (SIS) was suspend from his post and banned from leaving the country. The prosecutors accuse him of ordering taping the phone of four officers and a former SIS head in the absence of an authorization from the judge, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to a communique from the Prosecutor General's Office, the calls have been listened to between November 3, 2008 and September 24, 2009. The investigation was completed and the lieutenant colonel was banned from leaving the country for 30 days.
The Prosecutor General's Office has said it is now dealing with a number of similar cases and their examination will be soon finished.
