The Security and Intelligence Service (SIS) requested to block the website www.vkurse.md that disseminates information inciting hatred and war. The portal distributes in Moldova information based on reports broadcast by foreign news agency that justify the military aggression against the legally elected authorities of Ukraine, IPN reports.

In connection with the tense regional security situation, an exponential increase in the volume of fake news disseminated concertedly on all the information platforms is noticed, SIS said in a press release.

Under the ordinance of the Commission for Exceptional Situations of the Republic of Moldova, as from February 24 SIS has asked the managers of sources with online content to give up publishing/distributing fake news and messages that incite hatred, public disorder or war.

“We ask all the managers of sources with online content to immediately eliminate the fake news/false information about the escalation of the situation in Ukraine and the messages that incite hatred, public disorder or war, which were published also on February 23 – 24,” runs the press release.

SIS reiterated its call to the general public to inform themselves from official sources and from sources that actively verify the published information and to refrain from distributing information from dubious sources and messages that incite hatred and/or violence.
