“Sirius” sssociation asks to convoke Great National Assembly Square on May 23

The Republic of Moldova is a phantom, clandestine and failed state, said the head of the public association Center for the Protection of Fundamental Rights “Sirius” Anatolie Petrici, according to whom Parliament is to blame for the situation in which the country is now. All the big problems of the country are due to the current composition of Parliament.

In a news conference at IPN, Anatolie Petrici said the Republic of Moldova was an artificially created state and Parliament is illegitimate. “In the current situation, there is no Electoral Code. There is only a text on paper and the Parliament we have today is absolutely illegal. We all know that the elections are validated by the Constitutional Court and the seats of MP are also validated by it. So, the Constitutional Court in its activity, when it validates the elections, when it validates the seats of MP, abides by three documents. These are the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova, the Electoral Code and the Constitutional Jurisdiction Code. So, two of these three laws do not exist. The Electoral Code does not exist and the Constitutional Jurisdiction Code does not exist,” he stated.

Anatolie Petrici presented a response provided by the Ministry of Justice, which says that the Republic of Moldova does not have an organic law by which the Electoral Cod would have been adopted. It means that all the laws adopted based on this Code are null and void, he said.

“The association “Sirius”, together with veterans, on April 22, 2021 filed an application to the presidential administration by which we asked Missis President, so as to help the country overcome the current situation, to issue a presidential decree by which to convoke the Great National Assembly, in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution, which stipulates that the sovereignty in the Republic of Moldova belongs to the people. The Great National Assembly should be convened in the Great National Assembly Square where the people should decide the development path of this state,” noted Anatolie Petrici.

“We suggested that the President during three days should invite us to a discussion where we can provide evidence that the Republic of Moldova failed. Until now we didn’t get a response. We will insist on a meeting. We decided that the Great National Assembly will be convened at 12 noon on May 23. We will coordinate the agenda with the President and will make it public later,” said the head of the Center for the Protection of Fundamental Rights “Sirius”.

War veteran Valentin Ţapeş, head of the Ialoveni Veterans Force, said the current politicians are not trusted by the people. All their moves are political and they pursue the evil goal of safeguarding personal, not the society’s interests. “We, the veterans, together with “Sirius” association, want to call on Missis President to trigger snap elections. We can no longer tolerate this anarchy and mockery in all the political and economic sectors, coordinated by this Government behind which there is Dodon,” said the veteran.

Anatolie Macovei, 1992 war veteran, said the country cannot have snap elections with a failed government that is unable to manage the situation in general. Corruption in the country started from electoral corruption, being followed by corruption in Parliament. ”We support the idea of convening the Great National Assembly as in 1991 the declaration of independence was adopted first by the Assembly in the Square and then by the members of “Parlamentul 90”. It is a difficult situation, but with the participation of the people we will convene the Great National Assembly where to decide how we should call the elections,” stated Anatolie Macovei.
