The single childbirth allowance will be raised by 500 lei. The socially insured persons will receive 3,400 lei, while the uninsured persons – 3,100 lei, IPN reports, quoting the draft state social insurance budget law for next year, approved by the Government.

Under the bill, the minimum monthly childcare allowance paid up to the age of three will be raised by 100 lei, from 300 to 400 lei. The monthly compensation for participants in the Chernobyl cleanup will also rise by 100 lei.

The law provides for incomes into the 2014 state social insurance budget of 12.35 billion lei, up 14.2%on this year, and for an expenditure of 12.15 billion lei.

The state social insurance expenditure was determined based on the indexation of pensions by 7.05% and a forecast increase of 4.1% in the consumer price index and of 10% in the nominal average monthly pay.
