To run a theatre, circus or concert organization, ten years of experience in the field of culture will no longer be required. Five years of experience are enough, of which at least two in managerial positions. The Cabinet approved changes to provisions of the Government Decision regarding measures to implement the Law on theatres, circuses and concert organizations, IPN reports.

In accordance with the current requirements, the state concert organization, theatre or circus is managed by a director appointed by competition by the founder, and only a person with at least ten years of experience in the field, specialized director, conductor, actor, soloist, theatrologist, musicologist, playwright, composer, scenographer, choreographer or animator of the creative process can take part in the competition.

According to Minister of Culture Sergiu Prodan, the draft decision also broadens the spectrum of specialties eligible for this position, especially for jurists, economists and other professions related to the management of institutions.

According to him, these changes will open up new opportunities for hiring financially responsible people capable of managing theatrical-concert institutions.
